The people behind the counter

Good food.
Good people.

A familiar face, a little advice and a shared love of good food. That’s what makes a local butcher. Here are a few of ours.

Ashley &
Tina Thomson

Also known as Ash & Teens.

For us, Alstonville Quality Meats has always been about more than just great meat. It’s about community, family, and creating a business that people genuinely enjoy visiting.

Ash brings decades of experience in the food industry, a passion for quality products, and the ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Tina brings organisation, creativity, marketing, and the behind-the-scenes know-how that keeps everything running smoothly.

Together, we’ve combined our strengths to build a business that reflects what matters most to us: quality food, friendly service, supporting local families and farmers, and being part of the Northern Rivers community.

Like most husband-and-wife teams, we don’t always agree on everything. Ash will tell you Tina is a bit bossy. Tina prefers the term “organised” and likes to keep things moving. The truth is, Ash loves having a chat, Tina loves getting things done, and somewhere in the middle is the recipe that’s helped us build the business we love.

What we love most about Alstonville is the incredible sense of community. We feel fortunate to serve the people who support us year after year, and to work alongside so many amazing local farmers, producers and small businesses.

One thing people might not know about us?

Even when we’re not at the shop, we’re usually talking about the shop. Whether it’s a new product, a display idea, a promotion or something we’d like to improve, Alstonville Quality Meats is never far from our minds. We genuinely love what we do.

When we’re not working, you’ll usually find us spending time with family and friends, exploring local towns, enjoying the beautiful Northern Rivers lifestyle, or planning our next adventure.

“Ash likes to have a chat, Tina likes to keep things on track, and together we’ve made a pretty good team.”
